Barometric Pressure Sensors
Barometric Pressure Sensors are designed to measure atmospheric pressure in a variety of applications which specifically means the measurement of the weight exerted by air molecules at any given point on the Earth.
The sensor basically comprises a diaphragm or membrane that is made from a metal alloy or silicon and flexes or deforms when there are changes in the atmospheric pressure. This deformation because of the pressure changes is translated into an electrical signal which is processed by an integrated circuit and then converted into a standardized output format that is compatible with various systems.
Barometric pressure sensors help to measure atmospheric pressure in a variety of applications, providing crucial data for weather forecasting, altitude measurement, environmental monitoring, scientific research and more where an accurate measurement of barometric pressure is highly essential. Hence, they are widely used in fields such as meteorology, aviation, automotive, industrial automation, consumer electronics etc.
